Enjoy our ultimate cozy, warming meal, bringing together tender salmon and a clarifying tea- broth for a comforting experience. Paired with the toasty notes of genmaicha tea, it’s the perfect match to warm you up and soothe your soul.
- Shallow serving bowl
- Tea strainer
- Teaspoons
- Cup
- Paring knife
- 3/4 Cup cooked Japanese rice
- 3/4 Cup Hot water
- 1/4 Cup Vegetable broth (use hot water, when broth is not available)
- 1 TBSP Genmaicha loose-leaf tea (hojicha or kukicha loose leaf also pairs well!)
- 1 tin Canned salmon (or 1/4 lb cooked salmon filet, cooked tofu/chicken/ protein of your choice)
- 2 tsp Shredded nori (seaweed)
- 1 tsp Japanese rice crackers
- 1/2 tsp Sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Green onion or cilantro (chopped)
In the heat-proof cup, add in the genmaicha loose leaf and pour over the hot water. Let it steep for 3 minutes.
While the tea is steeping, in your bowl, assemble the rice and salmon until it is evenly distributed.
Once the tea is ready, gently strain your tea with the tea strainer over the rice bowl. Then carefully pour over the vegetable broth
Garnish with sesame seeds, shredded seaweed, crushed rice crackers and green onion (or cilantro) and enjoy!
You can experiment with different proteins such as cooked tofu and chicken, making it fully customizable. Give it a try with other cozy loose-leaf picks such as hojicha and kukicha.
