Roasty Genmaicha Rice Krispies

Elevate your desserts with genmaicha rice krispies, blending the nutty, roasted flavour of Japanese green tea with a toasted-popcorn aroma. These snacks are simple to make and perfect for any festivities or picnics.
- 9 x 9 Baking pan
- Parchment paper
- Large stove-top pot
- Wooden spoon
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- 3 TBSP Genmaicha tea powder
- 6 Cups Rice Krispie cereal
- 3 TBSP Unsalted butter
- 5 Cups Marshmallows
Tear off a sheet of parchment paper and line your baking pan. Set aside.
Heat the butter in the large stove-top pot on medium heat until it has fully melted and resembles a golden brown hue. Begin adding in the marshmallows (1 cup at a time), and fold it in with the butter.
Once the marshmallows are fully melted and incorporated with the butter, turn of the heat and stir in the genmaicha powder.
Stir the genmaicha-marshmallow fluff until it reveals a uniformed green hue.
Using the wooden spoon, fold in the rice krispie cereal one cup at a time. Once the cereal is well incorporated, transfer the mixture into your lined baking pan.
Press the cereal treat firmly until it forms an even layer and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes before cutting it into your desired shapes and serving.
To maintain your treats freshness, store treats in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Although, we recommend enjoying it fresh for the best flavour!
